Life after retirement, hell I really don't know what that's like. For four years after getting out of the Navy, I didn't do much other than fish and tinker arround the house. During that time I still had a son (Kenny) in high school. I met a very good lady (Cindy) and we married. She happened to live across the street and have a daughter (Heather) who went to the same school as Kenny. Cindy and I went to almost all of his football games, almost all of Heather's NROTC compitions and about half of Ken's weight lifting compitions. After he graduated he continued to work at his part time job and when Heather graduated she got a job at a bank. Kenny realized he wasn't getting any where, so he desided to join the Air Force. Heather continued to work at the bank and went to college at night. Hell, all of this happened during the four years I just mentioned. I went back to work, Cindy continued to work. Kenny is now stationed at Egland AFB just down the road from where we live. Heather is married and so on. Kenny, my brother (Raymond) and I are now driving Stingers on the Dirt Tracks in the Pensacola area. Well there we are. I'm 61, Cindy and I are now looking forward to a final retirement in less than a year.

So, what's going on with you guys?

Always good to hear from you again Phil. You're not alone with the aches & pains.
I'm pretty much retired for the time being, although watching my 3 yr old grandson keeps me busy.
I, along with Kim Brockhoff & Bob Moore, are putting another reunion together. It's going to be in Charleston, SC, Oct 5-8, 2017.  If you're willing and able, I would like to see you there. I'm working on the finishing touches of our registration form and related info.  We hope to get it done within a couple of weeks.  If your interested, email me at

I remember Phil Duby very well, he was our line PO at the time I was in VA 85 line. Very well liked in the squadron and a good shop supervisor.
