Mike,

I served on board the USS Halsey DLG/CG-23 from '79 - '82. Captain Turbac(sp) and Captain Wyatt were the CO's I served with on board. I was in Supply Dept That was my first command. I left the ship when we were in Long Beach Naval shipyard. and transferred to Naval Air Station Miramar. I retired on April 2009 after 30 years service. I'm living in Chula Vista/ San Diego, CA.Hope everything is going well for you and your family  shipmate. God bless!

I see you were at the Navy Reserve center at Orlando, Florida. That's where I got started. Enlisted in the Naval Reserve on 16 FEB 1970. I went to Boot right there in Orlando followed on by 2 weeks on the Waldron at Mayport. Spent the next few months drilling on Tue. nights until I reenlisted in the regular Navy.
