the best time in my life was when my dad was in the navy for 30 years and i was able to travel with him and live on or near naval bases and also when i was in the gave me an education in and out of the navy that you just cant get as a civilian. now my youngest daughter is joining the navy this summer and she will know what its like. after you i served in the navy  i had a hard time relating to civilian in  the work force.this roosy rds web site is great i was able to link up with a man who knew my dad and had served with him on base security if any one who served at aimd from 74 to 79 i would like to hear from you.

I was stationed there from Jul "84" - Jul "87" at AIMD W/C 400.  My Supervisor was Vic Cora.  Love to get with friends/shipmates during that time frame.

Was stationed at RR as an Air Controlman in Air Ops from May of '61 thru Nov '63.

The barracks and mess hall were just recently constructed in the Bundy area with many of the WWII era buildings still in use. Was a great adventure for a kid just out of high school. Wound up checking out of the Naval Station on the day Kennedy was shot, but may good memories also.

Worked at public works electrical shop 70 - 73
Lived at beautiful South Felicia's. Worst duty: driving a bus full of drunk skimmers back to their ship!

I was the first Air Traffic Control operator in 1957 when it was reactivated as a Naval Air Station.  Was transferred from Coco Solo Panama.  Discharged from "Rosy" in August 1958.  Lot of memories, started out in a portable tower (about 15' high) before the new tower was built top of the main hanger.
