The Orion was My First Ship after Boot Camp at GLAKES. I went on board in January of 1971. I was on Deck Force chipping paint for 6 months, till I made 3rd Class Illustrator Draftsman in July of '71. Did a short cruise to Miami and Back to Charleston, before leaving for Shore Duty in Naples Italy, on ADMIRAL CHARBONET's Staff.  Really Great Times !
