It's been 30 yrs since that unforgettable night. Most of us were in our racks for liberty in Lauderdale. We didn't expect 2 days in Norfolk. At about 12:05 am they announced "Battle Stations". We lost 14 and more then 80 wounded. I was in aft BDS and all the class V and wounded were located midship and foward.. Up all night hit the rack at 2pm I worked with CDR Dan Golden who was oral Surg aboard chief Dental officer who identified dead.
