She was older and bolder and she brought me home every time. I served on her from 1986 to 1991. I was her last CMAA and I closed her out. I can't believe they cut her up. She deserved better. She will always be my first Navy love.

I served on the Coral Maru with VA-196 MIlestones (CVW-14) for the 79-80 cruise, 81-82 cruise, and 83 world cruise. I also enjoyed Phattaya Beach on new years 81 and Cannes France 4th of July 83. Great fireworks show.

I may not count, but I did two weeks reserve time aboard the Coral Sea back in the mid 80's. I had a great time. They stayed around the Alameda coast and the pilots did practice.
