We did our service week over Christmas back at camp Barry, I was at the "long desk". Since I had been in camp for a month that made me "salty" to the new guys coming in. I felt sorry for them. They were all scared and didn't know what to expect. First Christmas away from home. Very lonely time. Cold all the time, but the Navy was kind enough to send me to Midway Island right after boot leave. Arrived in Hawaii in dress blues. Duhhh

Great Lakes November 1970 to Feb., 1971  Below zero 40% of the time. Company 408.

I always thought it was sunny southern California. When I got to San Diego it was November and for the next three months it was either overcast or rainy most of the time. We wore our raincoats a lot of days. It was still above freezing but being wet made it feel colder

Arrived in great Lakes April 1980 graduated June 1980 with honors co#108 can't remember the vision or my CC but we are up towards the back by the field am looking for old bootcamp shipmates trying to find some pictures or a copy of my company keel I started with 093 got asmoded but it worked out graduated with honors looking forward to reconnecting with any of my bootcamp shipmates stay safe go Navy

I think I found my Boot Camp CC BMC Arndt ! unfortunately I saw  tombstone with his name a fouled anchor and MCPO on it , he passed in 2011 ,
