I worked at #3 restaurants, before Enlisting into component NAVY. #1 Tavern on the mall #2 Ritzys and #3 Ohboy restaurant. I was a cook and busboy and dishwasher. My bosses complemented me for hard excellent work performance. Each one asked me to come back, after the navy time was up. I've been thinking about it.what do you veterans think? Should I.

I sworn into the navy in 1975 in Cincinnati Ohio. I went to boot camp in GLI. After graduation, I went PA for fire fighter training and A school. I was sent to Norfork VA for over seas training and to learn the Scottish customs. Fire fighting training again. My rate was Haul Tech FN. I was assigned to the USS Holland AS-32 as a  haul tech. After mess deck duty, I was assigned to the small boat division. There were several guys from my division, the 3rd division, and would like to get a hold of some of them. Vinny McKinney from Cheviot Ohio, Joe Bumgardner from Hamilton, Ohio, Jeff Anchutzes from Washington Court House, Ohio, Greg Howard from Dayton, Ohio. Can"t remember them all, but if you remember Gary 'Bones' Blake, contact me at gfblake52000@yahoo.com

I was born in Children’s Hospital on the grounds of Case Western Reserve University. A  few years later we moved to Lyndhurst I attended Charles F Brush High School. As a Junior I dropped out and joined the Navy, served for 22 years, from E-1, I reachedE-8, than Warrant Officer Than I applied for the LDO program  and was appointed to LTJG. I served on 7 ships during my career, starting on the USS LST 1154, than the USS LANING APD 55, USS Fulton AS 11, USS SKYLARK ASR 20, Nuclear Power School, than qualified at the D1G Prototype at West Milton NY. Than I was assigned to the PreCom unit for the USS TRUXTUN DLGN under construction in Camdan NJ. When I reached Chief I was sent to Pearl Harbor to the USS EG SMALL DDR 838. MY last ship was USS POINTDEFIANCE LSD 31 Than as Vietnam was winding down I was ssigned to CINPACFLT staff at Pearl. As LT my last duty station was COMSTA OHAU.  I miss the Navy and my only regret is that I didn’t stay in for 30 as believe I would have reached O-6 and I loved sea duty!
