Was stationed at Minecraft Support Unit Charleston, SC Oct 66 in the carpenter shop as a Damage Control seaman. Left in Oct 68 as a DC 2. Worked on the MSB, MSC & MSO boats doing anything with wood from replacing hull planking to re-decking four boats.

Served as COMINEWARCOM Ass't Flag Secretary as a CWO2/CWO3 and LTJG from Aug 1972 to Jun 1975 and supported Operation Clean Sweep, Mine Clearance of Haiphong Harbor and participated in Operation Nimbus Star - Suez Canal Mine Clearance.  One of my best' supposed' shore tours.  Regretfully we lost our admiral and many staff member in air crash at Charlotte, NC in Sep 1974. My pride and joy was restarting the "Annual Oyster Roast" on the waterfront behind the Headquarters Bldg. .
