"Enlisted at NRD MPLS in July 58, retired as Chief Recruiter at NRD MPLS in Oct 79. Boot Camp at GLakes, mostly served in tin cans and COMMSTA's."
"RMCM retired in 1979. Served mostly in destroyers at sea, communications stations ashore and overseas. One tour on a tanker, one at a Navy Reserve training center, and one tour as Chief Recruiter at NRD Minneapolis.

Hey Hans, my dad was a Tin Can sailor also, he was a TMC and served on them during WWII and Korea. He retired in 1958 after 26 yrs his last duty station was the Post Naval Grad school in Monterey, Ca. One thing that I remember was when he took there a few times they had a model of the U.S.S Midway CV-41 and being only 6 yrs old the model looked huge but it probably wasn't that big
