Yes - That was me. The surfer was Bill Orner. When we reported in, the old nurse that was over staffing told us she hated corpsmen from San Diego and made us demonstrated a spiral reverse bandage. I did OK and was assigned to dirty surgery. Orner struggled and she sent him to food service if I remember correctly.
