I reported aboard the Vulcan in May of 1949 as a seaman 1st class , Was transferred off the Vulcan in Dec.1952 as a 1st class Boatswain mate , how did I get rated so fast you may ask ? Two words (Korean War) , Served in all of the 3 divisions aboard…
