Came aboard the Perkins between Christmas 71 and New Year's. It was already a Reserve Training Ship by then. Sold it to the Argentines, and the command transfer was in January 73. It was renamed the Comodoro Py, and the last I saw of it, was a rooster tail headed out the Golden Gate. They transferred me to the USS Flint AE-32, up the river from SF Bay, in Concord. Joined the ship's 1st cruise in Subic (thought I was gonna die on the bus ride from Clark, before I even saw the ship!), 1 run up & down the gunline, then the 1st Arab Oil Embargo, and 3rd cruise was Operation End Sweep Saigon evacuation/refugee relocation out 2 Guam). Got out in Jul 75.
