  • Not a plank owner but followed you shortly. My oldest son was born there. Did most of the delivery my self. After all the rotations I moved to 21ABC and Schools Batallion, Good times.

  • I remember a young red head nurse corps ensign Jill Joann Jensen who would use J3 as her initials....she became the charge nurse on a combo urology/ortho ward while I was at NRMC CAMPEN, CA....we had one of the Navy's first co-ed barracks across the street from the hospital...the hospital was first class in it's day.... 

  • As plankowner of NRMC CAMPEN, CA I was on the inaugural crew when they opened the doors in 1974. Gee it seems like yesterday but it was over 35 years ago...at the close of the Viet Nam war.....the following year we would see a flood of Vietnamese refugees seeking asylum in the Tent City on the north side of Camp Pendleton.

1978 Ward Stabbing at NRMC Camp Pendleton

Does anyone have any news clippings, articles or other documentation that could be sent to me about a 1978, incident where a Marine stabbed two patients to death on one of the NRMC CAMPEN wards?  He also stabbed a male nurse who was a boxer.I heard that earlier in the day he had rolled a six-by killing 3 or 4 Marines and that he had been on Angle Dust (PCP), and was in the hospital for observation.  It took five corpsmen to restrain the wounded Marine even after an MP had put five rounds from a…
