  • 1959 Company 316 under Ivester BMC. Thought I would never learn all those knots.

Square knot is about all I remember...It is good I became an Rm2 and not a BM.

    Loved San Diego...

  • Was there in April of 69.  Company 305 grad early becuase of "Nam" Went to VP-31.  Work as A7E Mech, Recruiter, A6E mech F/A 18 Power Plant Instructor, F/A 18 mech Jet Shop LPO I on "INDY"where I retired in Dec of 89.  Get life miss the noise of the aircraft and the days at sea, because of the homecoming at the end of the cruise.

  • I remember that thing...

  • No problem Jerry.  Everything in my Navy career did not go quite as planned so why should my retirement be anything different.  However, after thirty years we did learn to adapt.

  • Geeee So Sorry to hear that Master Chief! Lot of Memories there in San Diego

  • SPENT AUGUST 6 7 8 AT THE MARIOTT HOTEL ABOUT 200 FEET FROM THE USS RECRUIT.  FIRST TIME IN 62 YEARS. NEVER SAILED ON THE RECRUIT,

OUR TRAINING WAS CUT SHORT DUE TO KOREAN WAR JUST STARTED

At least I started my career as a FRNF in 1965 and ended it in 1994 as the CMC at Recruit Training Command, NTC, San Diego with 30 years and 28 days (counting Constructive Time).

  • i WAS ON THE USS RECRUIT.... Hey never got sea sick either! hahahaha

    Have a Great Weekend shipmate!

  • Learned a lot on this tour from March 68 thru June 68.
