    my brother, rick was in boot there at the same time, he came aboard the halsey powell dd 686  to serve with me I was fwd fire room he was after fire room

    I retired in 1992 as chief engineer of  naval hospital san diego  co-generation plant. rick went to Christmas island for atomic bomb testing and died  from radiation

  • Alphonse, I have the sprayer plate, intermediate plate and nozzle block from a return-flow, 1200 pound, Iowa type burner from DLG-13.

ACC on 600# M-type

Has anyone heard of having Bailey ACC on a 600# M-type boiler?  As an amateur Navy historian, a 1200# BT and a factory rep for Bailey, I'd never heard of such a thing, but I have a picture of the Bailey console onboard the USS NORTHAMPTON (CLD/CC-1), which had the 600# B&W M-types that all of her sisterships in the OREGON CITY class of heavy cruisers had.My biggest question is, if she had M-types, did the ACC control both furnaces or only the saturated side.  The picture looks like only the…
