The Tigers mission is to safely train Student Naval Aviators for the United States and other International Navies in the air strike mission. The squadron has trained International students from Spain, France, Brazil, and Italy.

    Although not mentioned, I assume they are still located at NAS Meridean?

    I checked into 9 in 1971 and was immediately pcs'd to -19 as they was in the process of splitting.  Later on, I was sent TAD to -7, and a couple of years later pcs'd to 7.  I guess that I was the only one ever to be a member of all 3 training squadrons in the same 4 year period.  Left there and went to Diego Garcia.
