Belknap class destroyer leader/cruiser,named for Admiral William Harrison Standley former CNO and ambassador to the Soviet Union.Commissioned 09 July 1966 and decommissioned 11 Fed 1994,now in "Davy Jones Locker" as a artificial reef.

Kevin: Thanks for the beer. I now have a copy of the WHS 87 cruisebook. My co-hart Ken Dupree is scanning it to a CD. Also : I get a monthly newsletter via e-mail from the RAO in Seal Beach,CA. John Ryan is editor. He was a CDR(XO) on WHS in 70-72. Later was Capt and CO of USS Biddle.
