I was stationed in Sig. from 87-90. I worked in ATOC. Was married then, last name was Luna. Was an ABH3 then. Went to NAS Whiting Field, Fl. were I cross rated back to the MS rating, and and got my MS 2 rating.

Read more…SERVED IN CRASH AND RESCUE FROM JUNE 69-DEC 70. WE NICKNAMED THE BASE HELLHOLE BACK THEN. WAS A GOOD PLACE TO SERVE, WAS FAIRLY SMALL THEN. NAS 1 AND NAS 11. ALOT OF JETS FROM MED CRUISE CARRIERS DIVERTED THERE AND WAS HOME TO P-3 SQUADS. I REMEMBER VP 23 WAS ONE I THINK, DON'T REMEMBER THE REST. ALOT OF AIRCRAFT LANDED THERE FROM THE NAVY, SOME AIRFORCE AND SOME BRITISH AIRCRAFT.. HAVE PIC'S FROM THEN, WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE THERE TO COMPARE IT NOW TO THEN JERRY RHODES

I arrived to NAF Sigonella Sept. 1973 after completing AMS B school. I was assigned to OMD, working on all assigned aircraft C-131,S-2F. H-2 HH-46 and transits aircraft, I was also a traveling tool box and AMS corrosion specialist assigned Meditrainen aircraft air wing command corrosion inspection team traveling through the Med. As I was in Sig I Sowed on my AMS1 chevron at this time. I left Sig Oct. 1976 on orders for NAS Oceana.
C-117 and C-131 Crew.
I was stationed at the Security department 1986-1990. Saw alot and learned alot there....It was a great experience....
