USS Ticonderoga (CV/CVA/CVS-14) was one of 24 Essex-class aircraft carriers built during World War II for the United States Navy. The ship was the fourth US Navy ship to bear the name.

  • I served on the Tico '69 to end of '70 in the AIMD/IM2 Hydraulic shop. Arrived aboard in time for last Westpac as a CVA. Was aboard when we converted over to CVS from CVA-14. Spent part of yard period in Torrence,Calif at the Naval Supply Depot doing inventory on the aviation gear. When we came out of yard we were a CVA carrier but also the ship assigned to the Naval Air Reserves. Great old ship and sorry to have seen her go to scrap!l
