  • I was the Special Services Director 1971-1975 as an ETC

  • The first time I became aware of NRRF Kamiseya, was in Feb of 1980. When I was in USS Midway (CV-41) Indoctrination class. Seems CV-41 was about to be relieved or had just been relieved on station in the Indian Ocean. Some smart Officer on the Midway decided that instead of me catching a ship that's on it's way back to Yokosuka anyway. Why not just send me TAD to Fleet Ocean Surveillance Information Facility Westpac (FOSIF) instead. I loved it from the beginning, despite me being a seaman duce. I pretty much spent the entire month of Feb there and learned a lot about the Pacific AOR. I went back to FOSIF Westpac in Jan of 1988 was an IS1 and was there until April of 1991. Great time and even better shipmates.
