  • Summer support - '72 & '73. I volunteered for winter-over and was selected but another person was also selected. I didn't have anything to do so I got to join a lot of expeditions and projects. Fun!!

  • I was assigned to Det. Alpha from October 73 to Oct 74. I served as the winter over Postal Clerk.

  • I was assigned to NSFA from August 1988 to October 1991.  I did 3 summer support deployments to Antarctica.  I worked in the Personnel Office.  Some of the best years of my life.  Fantastic duty station.

  • I was Summer Support Radioman,   Hallett Station first year, McMurdo second year, (Home on emergency leave and stayed in Davisville, Third year, MARS station on transmitter hill for a couple months then out to Byrd Surface Camp.

  • i was on the uss burton island agb-1 in november 1963 if you remember that was the year jfk was shot. ww broke a channel with uss atkia and glacer too base. this is a adventure that i will never forget
