  • Name is Hank Steinbrock, was stationed and worked at the "bullring" from Jan. 1970 thru Oct. 1973. CTR2.

  • Looking back, I really miss the TAPAs and the beer. I enjoyed the Cruzcampo and the San Miguel brands of beer at the local bars. Does anyone else have any memories they would like to share?

  • Hey there... I was stationed at NAVCOMSTA Spain CYN3 (Communications Yeoman) from November 1968 to November 1970.  Lived off base, on the beach, in a small two bedroom condo for $50/month.  Partied at the Tokyo Bar (now called the Dallas club or something like that).  Went back to visit Rota in September 1990 and, wow, things had changed so much.  It is now a beautiful resort town, along the beach there.

  • ahoy mates, just happened onthis command site.  I was stationed in Rota as a cryptographer after wintering over at McMurdo Sound, Antarctica inIGY 1957-58. duty there from 1958 to 1961 (befor all of you were born probably)

  • I was stationed at NCS Communication Station Rota, Spain from May 1980 to July 1983. This was and continues to be one of my most cherished times of my life in ESPANA. I worked as CTO at the bullring the whole time. My name is Jimmy Teuscher and I loved to party offbase at the American Bar and Bar Las Vegas.

  • I worked at NCS - "The Bullring" from November of 1978 to November of 1980.  My name was Trudy Kreger at that time.  I would love to hear from anyone ever stationed in Rota, Spain during any timeframe.

  • I was stationed there from feb 75 to jan 77.  CTA3
  • I was stationed at NCS from Aug 74 until Jul 77 (Receiver Site and Bldg 8 Tech Control).

GREAT YEARS AT ROTA

I was stationed at Naval Security Group but attached to Naval Communication Station Rota 1974 - 1977. Great duty station! Great Flag Football team! Lived in Rota 2 years and on base our final year. I was SK1 at that time. Returned several years later (1996) as a LCDR to audit the supply department. Wow ... the base had so many changes and upgrades. The same Foreign Nationals were still working there ... they were so confused when I knew them all by name! It was fun!
