  • You were there when I was going through my "A" School.  Probably had you as a instructor either during "Cold Iron Watch" or when we were going through "Hot Plant"  back in 1987. Graduated in June 1987 and shipped out to SIMA/NRMF Long Beach, Ca.

  • From 1983 to May 1987.

  • Bryan when were you at MM/BT A School?  Went through there in March 87 to June 87.  Great times there.

  • My first ship was the USS Bradley (FF-1041) P-fired boilers, the best ship I was on I loved hearing those superchargers, you could hear them scream on acceleration, then I went to Great Lakes  and taught MM/BT "A" school, lots of great memories four other ships after that then I retired in 1997.

  • SERVED ON BOARD USS NORTHAMPTON CC-1 IN B-DIV. FROM '67-'69. WORKED IN # 2 FIREROOM. HAD THE PLEASURE OF DOING WATERSIDES MY FIRST DAY IN THE HOLE. WAS THEN TRANSFERRED TO GTMO.

sprayer plates

nsfo sucked f-76 was pretty good burning jp-5 you could burn but superheater temps woud be higher and it did burn cleaner but was expensive to burn in a boiler and we made ourown overloads on the coral sea drilled out some 11s and made 9s for full power runs and wartimeuse. Steaming an m-type with no abc"s was a real challenge but it made the watch go by fast.
