STACK CLEANING AND LAGGING REPAIR
Who remebers cleaning the stacks and the soot in the stacks turned into an acid that burned the piss out of your eye's and any cuts you had and the lagging that was full of asbestos. The Chicago was a great ship to be on.

Hey Terry I was on the Edson DD-946 1981 to 1985 loved that ship was B-1 LPO and had the Oil Lab for awhile. Did 18 months homeported in Philly on FFG-15 hated that place.

We pullrd the heating coils out of the tanks on CV-62 during a yard period somebody thought it was a good job fo the Oil Lab. Thank God we only did the 16 service tanks otherwise we might still be there.

BTC(SW) Got to think about 1B's steam drum. Didn't one of them have part of the Snipe's Lamit (sp) on it ?
I remember pulling those black oil heaters out of my first ship,you could get the smell out but not the stains on your uniform.

Medical Hospital in Fayetteville,NC 70 miles each way and i don't get a gas allowence, but i get a hell of a lot better care with th V.A. than when i had private insurance while i was still working.
