joined the order of Shellbacks on January 15th 1975 as ships crew USS Enterprise CVN 65 . Capt. CC Smith in command.
Thanks, Guys!
There are several places that carry those ball caps, Try medals of America and do a search of Shellback hats. You'll find it
Steve that ball cap is made by Eagle Crest - I have one of their other ball caps - that reads United States Navy - We own the Seas. I was sure that www.4armedforces.com would have it, but, they didn't. It is an interesting site, the Navy Store can keep you occupied for a couple of hours. Hope this is of help.
cool hat.
Angeles City was a good liberty in 1972
I'd LOVE to have one of the caps!
I became a shellback in 85,while it was still the "real un-cut" and not the doctored, politically correct sissy ones.hahahahah
I wear my hat! BEWARE SLIMMY WOGS!! ARRRRRRRR!!
At time we went to the Med in 1971 the Saratoge almost sank in Athens harbor when some one pulled the plug. It almost delayed our liberty in that great liberty port.
I was talking to one of my friends who as a civilian fueled the ships as they pulled into different bases. His name for Saratoga was the ( don't take offence) "The Sucking 60 From Dixie" at the time it was home ported in May port FL.
That was an 8 month Med IO for me Suez Canal Equator Singapore for Christmas Which was my 21st birthday. Good times.
