  • Crossed the Equator at the International Date Line and became a Golden Shellback on the USS Long Beach CGN9 in Sept. 1976 on the way to New Zealand. Crossed again in the IO the next winter.
  • Crossed the line twice, on the way to South America aboard the Catamount delivering aid relief to Chili after their big earthquake in the early 60s, and one crossing aboard the Ticonderoga on our way to Singapore, took a dip down south just for that purpose.
  • Know ye:That on 2Oct77 my shipmates and I crossed @ longitude054 degrees30 minutes, on board the USS Bowen FF1079, on our way to the Seychell Islands. We had on our ship a golden shellback. A big boy he was. And before we started the course we had to eat an olive out of his peanut butter smeared naval. Ahh,the good times.
  • Stan Garrett IC3 crossed the Equator on April 15, 1965 aboard the USS Churchill County LST-583 bound for Salinas Ecuador.
  • I am GMG1 Peacock (USN Ret) I crossed the line on 23 April 1980 at 030-35w on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) bound for the Indian Ocean. Singapore was our only port visit for the entire 245 days before returning to Norfolk, Va.
  • I crossed the Line on 9 September 1970 at 105.31E on USS Paul Revere LPA248 bound to Singapore.
  • I first crossed the Equator on board the USS Midway (CV-41) on 22 August 1980 at Latitude 0000 and Longitude 084° 34 East. What a long day it was... LOL !
  • AL lARIVEE BT/3 U.S.N. 1961-65 Crossed the equator aboard the U.S.S.Bordelon DD-881 on 14 March,1965. Lattitude000.00 Longitude 044 Degrees 00' E.
