    WHAT MEMORIES..
  • i went over the equator in 1955 aboard the FDR-CVA 42 just after we left Chile and it was just before that we had are visit with King Neptune. We had to craw from the 2nd deck all the way to flight deck. We had to wear our blues with the pants one reverse, crawling on our knees and of course getting our little taps from those leather straps which by the way were wet and the more wet they was the more they hurt. Once we got topside their he was King Neptune with his big fat belly coated with butter but first if I remember right we had to do something then up the latter to the crown and kiss the Kings big fat belly and then the trap door opened up and down we went into the garbage. It was fun
