  • I crossed the first time while a member of VA-172 aboard the USS Franklin D Roosevelt (CVA-42) at 12:00 noon on July 4, 1966 (Star Spangled Shellback) enroute to the Gulf of Tonkin. Recrossed the equator January 22, 1967 on the way home to NAS Cecil Field, Jacksonville, FL.
  • My 2nd time crossing was with the USS New Jersey (BB - 62) IN 1979, USS Arkansas (CGN - 41) IN 1981 & USS Mount Hood (AE - 29) in 1989 & 1990. I was a Shellback then, so the Wogs were in trouble, but it was fun.
  • Crossed the Line in 76 on America's Ship the U.S.S. Connstelation CV-64 I was with the Air Wing CVW-9.
  • My frist time acrossed I was a BMSN long time to the next time I a BMC we would in our line swing south of Vietnam then drop down to beat some ass.
