I was the squadron in Bermuda '80, worked the coffee mess 12 on 24 off. Great job and per diem. Made both Sig deployments on Crew 6, R&R in London and Munich.
Nice pic of R2D2 IRDS pod. Yes the standard compliment was 9 aircraft. I think I have a pic of the fly over, if I find it I will post one.
Randy,
Remember when we installed these? Haha!
The P3 can be a bada$$ after all!!!
Hi Randy, James, Elaine, and Mr. Dvorak. I remember the flyovers at Jax when we returned from the Sig depolyments. As I recall one of those was at Christmas time and Santa rode down the taxiway hanging out of the cockpit hatch on LP1 (or was it Rudolph?). Mr Dvorak, I remember times with you in command and really miss what we all had back then. Great times. Randy, glad to see you made it...LOL!! I will have to check out the FB page too.
I was in the Squadron from 1980 to 1984. I caught part of the Bermuda deployment and both Sig deployments back to back. I got the picture of LP-1 over Mt Etna when I re-enlisted in Sig 1983, I think. To many years ago to be exact. Yes during these years that squadron had 9 P3C aircraft. They did not change while I was in the squadron. I really do not know what happened after I left.
