I was on board from 1989 - 1992. Retired just before she left Holy Loch. I was the EMO (Electronics Material Officer) out of the Communications Department. Second tour in Holy Loch, the first being on the Hunley from 1982 - 1985.
I had a lot of memories tied up on that ship. Sorry to see her go. When I got on her, she had just come out of the yard in Bremmerton where they cut her in half and put in the missle bays. It was like being on a brand new ship.

I was onboard from 1979 - 1982. I was in the Chem Lab attched to R-8. Best command I was ever attached to in 20+ years of Naval service.
I was stationed aboard USS Simon Lake from 1991-1993 in DC Division in Holy Loch and for a small time at La Maddalena Italy.
