  • Sorry dude! Got laid off from my 2nd job in 17 months and only worked 7 of those. I was off 7 months 1st time and I have no leads going into my 3rd month this time. I'm taking classes to get a real estate license.
  • Going to school cause I was laid off almost a year ago. Anyone have a JOB for me. Pete
  • Chris, I love your pictures. ML "A" school was such a blast. Looks like your class partied just as hard as mine, and all of those Dental Techs, enough said!
  • aldo, yes i did, and i have never volunteered since. take care, tell wanetta i say hey.
  • Mark, RK was not the person, The one I was refering to thought he was a GOOD MAN
  • Does anyone remember MLC Norman Thompson? He was my 1st Class when I reported aboard the Jason for the first time in San Diego in '73. Now there was a man who knew his stuff. He used to drill the Iron Carbon Diagram into us, not only so we could pass the advancement tests, but to make us better Molders. He is a man I owe a great career too. The best advice he gave me before he left the Jason was that at each new command, make sure you go to the Bosun and the Engine repair shop and get Coxswain qualified on the small boats and get Boat Engineer qualified on the small boats. I did just that and consequently made many many Fishing trips in the 50 footers and the Officers Gig with the Captains of each of my commands. That was a great deal. Does anyone know whatever happened to MLC Thompson? He was a Good Molder.
  • ops meant hangover
  • hey roxy I use to come to work with a handover lol just ask aldo I cleared out the foundry lol
  • Rocky: I wonder WHO THAT PERSON WAS? Have a good one. And ,did you learn anything? I am sure you did.
  • TWO MORE MOLDERS I SERVED WITH AT PM/ML SCHOOL THAT I DIDN'T INCLUDE IN MY PREVIOUS LIST, MLCS KEN ALLEN AND MLC FAVOR. KEN ALLEN HAD 40 PLUS YEARS ACTIVE AND RESERVE WHEN HE RETIRED IN 92. HE HAD MORE TIME AS A ML1 THE I HAD IN THE NAVY AT THE TIME I KNEW HIM.

Posablly seeing about starting up a navy molders museum?

I know they dismissed our rate back in 1997. I would hope there are enough of us left to possably  get together and see about creating a museum somewhere  here in the states to preserve our long history and heritage that we all have shared as Molders. Any of you out there please give me a response if you read this Discussion.                                      Thanks.
