  Leslie, Ar. residend. South Pacific 1943-1946 USS John Rodgers DD574 Destroyer with Squad Dog 25 aboard. 12 Major Batttles from Tarawa to Ewojima and Okinawa. Radio operater and 20MM general quarters. USS John Rodgers with her Squad Dog 25 was the first surface vessle to enter Japanice homeland.

  All in all interesting and educational.

  mARE iSLAND sUB bASE 1953-1954, 1954-1956 USS NEREUS as 17 SUB TENDER, 1956-1961 NR.  Was Exposed to Ionizing Radiation in 1955 in the South Pasific. And now I am a Atomic Veteran.  www.radvets.org

  I was on board the USS Wexford Cty 1168 from Feb 1965 to June 1966. We were in Vietnam in the following cities : Danang, Chu Lai, and Qui Nhon. We were assigned for over a year TAD to Yokosuka , Japan and made a trip to South Korea to the town of Pusan to pick up 6,000 Korean troops in the Tiger Division to take to Qui Nhon. We ran up the rivers , delivered equipment and men and were under fire at Chu Lai receiving hostile fire pay for 3 months after being struck by a shell at the 03 level, officers quarters, and radio ops.

  1968-1972 First duty was NAS Cubi Point PI 69'-70' then went to the Connie' CVA-64 71'-72'...
