USS MONTEREY (CG-61)

USS MONTEREY (CG-61) commemorates the battle fought 20-24 September, 1846, in the war with Mexico. The 16th Aegis cruiser, MONTEREY was launched 23 October, 1989, conducted her first sea trials in November, 1989 and was commissioned 16 June, 1990.
