  • The Patriot Squadron, Association of Naval Aviation has a museum in the old gym building. It is open the last Saturday of the month.
  • Don't worry about the typos. There are no spelling or grammar police here that I'm aware of.
  • Ahhh phooey, just saw all my typos, my apoigies!
  • Wow, this brgs back a lot of memories! I was stationed at Sowey 9/77 to about 10.80. Orifinally I was a witht he marine detatchent then went to AIMD GSE, worked for CPO Jim Lawson which is ironic in hat he had worked for my father when he was staioned at NAS Whifby Island many years before. The C.O at the time for the Marine Detachemnt was Lt Col Gerrold Kemp. The memories of South Weymouth good and a couple bad are almost over welming and it was sad to see the base closed.
  • I couldn't find any pictures of the old gate but I found one of the new gate on Rte 18
