  • Enlisted at NRD MPLS in July 58, retired as Chief Recruiter at NRD MPLS in Oct 79. Boot Camp at GLakes, mostly served in tin cans and COMMSTA's.
  • Enlisted 11/68 and attended basic at RTC San Diego, Company 819.  Attended P and A schools at NATTC Memphis and spent two years at Whiting Field aboard VT-2.  Final rotation was with VAW-122 aboard the USS Independence out of Norfolk.  Discharged to reserves in September 1972.  Final rating was AMH-2.

     

  • Looking for ET3 Doug Storkan.  Served with him at NSAD Chu Lai, RVN '67 -'68. Was from around White Bear Lake, as I remember.

  • Joined the Navy 6-6-58 from Faribault two days after HS graduation.  Ended up doing twenty.  Would have stayed longer but they wanted to put me on a third carrier.  Two were too many!

  • Enlisted Summer of 67 in Faribault (no USN in Owatonna at that time)

    Boot Camp in San Diego (67), Basic E&E, RM"A" and 2304 Schools, then

    SERE at NAB Coronado and SERE at Camp Pendelton (68)

    NavSuppAct Da Nang, RVN (68-70) three locations:

    1. LCU1622 from Danang north to Dong Ha, south to Sa Huynh
    2. White Elephant CommSta downtown Danang
    3. Triangle CommCtr on the Tien Sha Peninsula

    NavRadSta Fort Allen Sta, Puerto Rico (70-71) near Ponce.

    Discharged Charleston July 1971.

  • USN 80-94. Joined the Navy after graduating from Cambridge High School in June of 80.  Got out as a First Class Surface Sonar Technician (STG1) in Mar 94.

  • I joined the Navy and went to San Diego for boot camp in April of 69.  Went to ADJ "A" then to VP-31 at NAS Moffett Field, Ca then VA-195 at NAS Lemoore, Ca; then NRS West Allis, Wi; then VA-85 @ NAS Oceana, Va; then NAMTRA Det 1038 @ NAS Lemoore, Ca; then VFA-136 @ NAS Lemoore, Ca/ NAS Cecil Field, Fl; then USS "Indy" CV-62. I retired in Dec of 89 while onboard the "Indy".  Made 2 West Pac  on the Kitty Hawk, made 2 Med's on the Forrestal, South America on the Indy on change of homeport.  My two sons did a 10 day "Tiger Cruise" on the Indy.  My worst duty was recruiting duty, my best was Instructor duty @ NAMTRADET 1038 with F/A 18's.

  • I joined the Navy in Friendly Fridley's Moon Plaza. Was in the catch program, so was sworn in the reserves in March and chose to go active in July, right after my oldest brothers wedding. My next to the oldest brother was drafted into the Army, so I made sure that I would not be drafted, so I joined the Navy. My flight to San Diego was my first time on a jet airplane and I loved every minute of it. We took off into a huge thunderstorm at the Minneapolis/St Paul international airport. Nothing but good memories now......
