  • I was in VF 41 from Jul of 69 till I was discharged in Mar 70 after being in Portsmouth Navy Hospital for surgery. We were onboard the USS FDR CVA 42 and spent a good deal of time in Gitmo and Carib cruising. Many years later, as a reservist, I was onboard the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT  and lo and behold there was good old VF41 on another ROOSEVELT CVN 71. I still remember getting my Black Spade put on.

  • I was in VF-41 from 1964 until discharge on 10-13-1967. Made several shake down cruises, Westpak cruise, med cruise and several trips to the St. Thomas plus hot pad duty in Key West, Florida.

Just wandering if anyone from that era is monitoring this site. I have tried to follow the squadron as much as possible since departure. Very proud of what it is and has been. My grandson is going to follow in my shoes and enter the Navy. He is in the Sea Cadets at this time and loves it. Hope some of the old crew are still kicking and post something. I also was at NAS Oceana when on dry land and not TAD.

  • Was in VF-41 from 1964 until discharge in 10-13-1967. Would like to know if any members served during that time period. Have tried to keep track of squadron and accomplishments over the years and have been proud of the squadron and its standing in the fleet. Nice to see it has continued to maintain excellence over the years.
