  • I was station at AIMD from 1981 to 1983. Had a great time (was able to see my mom and the rest of the family almost every weekend after 10 years). Would like to hear from anyone that was stationed at AIMD during those years.
  • I served at NAVSTA from February 1968 to February 1971 in the Personnel Office. Our daughter, Tammy, was born in the hosptal on the hill.
  • I can say the beach was nice, the diving and fishing was great. I was down at the far end of the base at Camp Moscrip, did an 8 month deployment there with NMCB-5 back in 93.
  • I was at AIMD Roosy Roads from 90 Sep thru 94 Sep. Had a blast! I was AZ2 Bonaccorso and I worked in SE division most of the time but did two stints in main PC. Would love to hear from anyone who was down there at the same time.

Stationed from 1978 to 1980 VC-8

I was stationed at Roosevelt Roads from 1978 to 1980 mainly as a line crew member then in the OPs office. Being in the Navy was the best time of my life. The lovely weather. The great people. The awesome weekend trips and scenery. But, one unfortunate thing that happened was the horrific crash of our VC-8 H3 helicopter that contained 8 of our coworkers and crew members as they were on their way to St. Croix.
