  • PR-2 I was with HC-2 1989-1990. 1 Det to Naples. Interiors technician on the VH-3A.

  • By the way, I designed the patch you see above 1964 when the squadron was changed from HU-2 to HC-2!

  • I served in HU-2/HC-2 from Jan 1964 until July 1965 as an AE1. Med cruises on Forrestal and the old FDR. Selected for OCS under the "Seaman to Admiral" and ordered to OCS in Newport, R.I. where I was commissioned as an Ensign and sent to flight training as an NAO/NFO. Got my wings in 1966, and served in VQ-2, Instructor Duty in Pensacola, then and VAQ-33. Next was Staff EWO at Fleet EW Support Group in Norfolk, then selected as OinC of Special Projects Det in Maine. From there, screened as X.O. and C.O. of VQ-1 on Guam, and then served as VQ Requirements Officer in OPNAV (OP-05). Selected for Captain while in OPNAV and ordered to the Naval War College in R.I. After the War College, I was ordered to the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington where I served as a Department Head before retiring from the Navy in 1990 with almost 32 years of total service.

  • I was Stationed with HC-2 Det 67 from Apri 1970 until May 1973. Made the longest cruise ever. Dec 71 - Oct 72 to the Med wher we spent the last three months in and out of Palma Mallorca. Then I got married in Aug 73 and went on my honeymoon to Palma and guess what I saw from the plane as we were on approach to the airport, CVA-67 where I was able to get some REAL toilet paper for my 23 day stay in Palma.
