USS Forrest Sherman (DD-931) was the lead ship of her class of destroyer of the United States Navy. She was named for Admiral Forrest P. Sherman USN (1896–1951).

  • I reported on board in June 1965 as a member of first division.  My nickname was Alfie Kline because the guys thought I looked like Alfred E Newman on Mad Magazine.  I eventually struck for Signalman and attended SM A school in Newport RI and returned to the Sherman as a SMSN.  I served until January 69 and was flown from Naples Italy to the states for separation.
