  • I was station at NAS Imperial Beach with HC-5 back in 1971 was TAD to Base at the Hydraulics Shop. Was there when they re-commission us from HC-5 to HSL-31 got out in 1973. It was a great place. Sorry to see it has been decommission to an outlying field now.

  • Hey all, I was assigned to HSL-31 Det Bravo from 89 to91 and ended up decommissioning the detachment and headed back to F-14 land for a few years. I was an E-5 then in Airframes and I remember AD1 Beach to, and AE1 Baily, AMH1 Hilldebrand, and ADC Bong when he made chief. I'll never forget that we parked a helo on top of his charge book in the hanger. I guess he got some real shit for that one. The old hanger ended up being a Modification hanger for the H-60's later on. Oh well, retired and livin the dream now.

  • My first command from 1984-88 I was a Rescue Crewman attached to Det-Bravo, home ported out of Subic Bay, Philippines and it was the best time of my life, miss those days.

  • I was in HSL-31 when AD1 Beach was supervisor in the Power Plants work center and AD1 McGowan was working in phase.
