  • I was born in Everett and have spent my entire life in Washington. During my active duty years I had NAS Whidbey on my "dream sheet" but I got orders to the USS Vancouver in San Diego. It all worked out okay and now I wouldn't change anything. Still in Washington, in Cashmere

  • Was at Whidbey from 1970 to 1974.  It was great duty.  As a golfer, Whidbey has one great golf course.  The held the 13th Naval District Tournament every year.

  • I spent 4 great years stationed at NAS Whidbey Island attached to VA-165. Met a lot of great people and enjoyed what I did-Rigger. I married a Washington girl, who was a blind date and we have been together for over 32 years.

  • I was raised and lived in the Olympia area and Fort Lewis was my playground as a kid, eventho I came from a Navy Family (Both parents where Cooks (CS's) and a Grandfather too).  Did Boot at RTC San Diego CA and my 2nd Duty Station then was NUWES (Navy Torpedo Station) Keyport Washington...what luck was that!  It had to be the Best Duty I had.  Not only was I from from the area, what better sights could you get than the San Juan Islands and surrounding areas?  Not many I do so proudly say.  Would love to hear from anyone from there or Whitby Island, Everett or Bremerton.
  • I served from 1973 to 1977 on board the USS Mount Hood AE-29

  • I served aboard VAQ-129/VAQ-131 NAS WHIDBEY ISLAND WA 1979-1982. I also served aboard NCS SUBBASE BANGOR WASHINGTON STATE 1984-1986.
  • Hey folks! Welcome aboard! Remember in TAP class when they told us about networking down at the local VFW and Fleet Reserve in order to find out about job opening via "word of mouth?" This is what this is for.
If you are established in a company that may be hiring, and you think that a former Squid or Jarhead would make an ideal employee, start a comment by what part of the state you are in, and what industry you are in.
If you are looking for work after your transition from Military life, post the area you are looking for work, what sort of work you are seeking, and some contact info.

Folks... We really can make this work!!!
