  • Hello Hoosiers. Born and raised in Evansville, IN. Went into Navy Reserve in 1964 did the Accelerated "A" School Program. Completed Hospital Corps School in 1965 and went on active duty. Went to Camp Lejeune for Field Medical Service School, was attached to 2/2 as a Corpsman. Did Vietnam 1966-1967. Came home did tours at NAVHOSP Portsmouth, NAVHOSP Newport, and Fleet Composite Squadron 10 at NAS Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Got off active duty and went into Naval Reserves and retired as Chief in 1992.

  • I'm Randy Waldon, I was born and raised in Crawfordsville, Indiana. I lived all over Montgomery, Tippecanoe and Putnam Counties. I lived in Greencastle when I signed up for delayed entry on 09 July 1982. I left for boot camp at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois in January 1883, In march 1983 I attended Apprentice Training at Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Illinois. I was stationed aboard the USS SEATTLE AOE-3 at Norfolk Naval Station. I arrived there in April 1983 to find my ship was at sea. I was sent TAD to Amphibious Base Little Creek at Barnum Hall to wait for Seattle's return. After two North Atlantic Cruises and a Mediterranean Cruise I extended a year for BE&E and IC A School at Naval Training Center, San Diego, California. I returned to the Seattle in May 1985 and left for my final Med. Cruise in August 1985. My active service ended 06 January 1987 and was Honorably discharged on 08 July 1988. I still live at Chesapeake, Virginia

  • Hello ; I am Robert Bise, I live in Oakland city, IN. I served on the USS TRIPPE DE 1075 as an MM2  from 1974 - 1978. I was stationed at Charleston SC. naval base. I am glad to be part of this Indiana Navy group.  

  • Charlie Strickland ; Have lived in Southwestern In. my entire life. After severing on the USS ORISKANY CVA 34 from June"66' until Feb. "70'. Couldn't wait to return home to Indiana. We attend my ship's reunion each year since "98", this fall in Sept. it will be in Indy, so happy we can now drive to one. My wife an I hosted it in Evansville in "05". Alway's a wonderful time. Retired from the coal mine in Dec.of "2012", enjoying this thing called retirement, do miss some of my shipmate's though. Take care fellow Hoosier's
  • Dave Bevis  here...VA-85 ,USS forestall NAS Oceana from 1979 to 1982. I grew up in Edinburgh,Indiana. Currently live in Columbus,In. and work in Franklin,In. I keep in touch with a few of my old ship-mates and love to hear from anyone who likes to reminisce.
