USS Josephus Daniels (DLG/CG-27) was a Belknap-class destroyer leader / cruiser. Named for Josephus Daniels, Secretary of the Navy during World War I.

  • Made FTM-2 and FTM-1 on the "JD". Served on her from April 1966 to December 1970.
  • It was 41 years ago today I entered the U.S.Navy. I am proud to have served.
  • Served aboard as Storekeeper from 1974-1978, Roys Boys, Black Sea Collision, Capt McMahon, Capt Chisum, Med, North Atlantic, Artic lots of Great Memories, truly was the worlds greatest Guided Missle Cruiser.  Our Weapons Ensign is now the CNO Admiral Roughead.  God Bless all our fellow shipmates.

  • It was great serving aboard the Joey D. I am a mechanical contractor in S. Florida as a direct result of my training in the Navy. I am a member of the American Legion Riders at post 142 in Pompano Beach, Fl. and I am known as ''SNIPE".
