Stationed as PSD Oceana from 1983-1987.

I was stationed at the dispensary ,sometime in the in the early 70;s. I remember the great golf course. I remember my years there were good ones. Ken Mcdowell HMC USN RET.

I was there about 10 years before you Jerry, probably working on the same bench. I worked on IFF while it still contained tubes. Of course that was in the late 70's, then they started transitioning to solid state.

Served on shore duty at NAS Oceana from '91-'93 at AIMD shop 610, AT3 IFF technician

They do give tours during the summer from down by the beach somewhere. The tours end on Labor Day I think. If you want a better tour you need to get someone stationed there to give you the tour.

Do they allow ol previously stationed guys to tour the place? Havent been back since 73 and would love to see the place again

My very 1st tour was with VA-55 at NAS Oceana from '84-'87 and then returned for a shore tour from '93-'97. Enjoyed this base and still enjoying it being retired.
