I was there summer of 1975.are the man haulers still there ? how bout the disco lounge?
I was stationed with NSFA 4/86 until 10/87. and NMCB4 from 8/93 until 11/97. Port how needs me will always be a found memory. I was one of the lucky ones to serve on both CB bases. I retired as a CM1
Came right from boot camp for UT A School in 12/66. The base joke use to be that the CBC (Construction Battalion Center) stood for Continuation of Boot Camp. From here I was sent to the public works in Barbados. Had some good times here and wonder if the USO still exist in Oxnard.
Went through Builders "A" school in 1961 and then to base unit in Argentia, Newfoundland. the school served me very well in later life.
I went through CM A school in 1971 and was assigned to MCB 4 got out in 1975. Then went back for UT A school in 1981 then assigned to NSFA transferred in 1984 to NSU State Dept. Then went back again in 1992 for Shore Base Boiler school
I was in Steelworker "A" school in 1976-77 I was kicked out of the Bee's because I am deaf in my right ear. I realy liked it there. I worked at Barricks 1184 while waiting orders to the fleet. I worked for a BU1 Larry Minor. Dose anyone know him. If so please e-mail me at flags@metrocast.net. Thanks
