USS Oriskany (CV/CVA-34), nicknamed The O-boat, was an Essex-class aircraft carrier of the United States Navy, named for the Revolutionary War Battle of Oriskany.

  • I was on the O Boat from 1973 to 1976 when I transferred to the USS Ranger CV-61. Aboard the USS Oriskany I was in Main Control then with G-Gang and then took over AER and became the Top Watch as a 3rd Class PO. I was one of four qualified Chief Machinist's Mate of the Watch.and I was an E-4.
