USS Constellation (CV-64), a Kitty Hawk-class supercarrier, was the third ship of the United States Navy to be named in honor of the "new constellation of stars" on the flag of the United States.

  • MM1 in 1MMR 1981-1985.

  • Michael I was in V-3 Division working on the hanger bay in 78 and left in 79 after that long deployment

  • i remember being in the ships band on the connie,had a good time and made some good friends,i worked in aimd ord. shop on the fwd hanger deck,i was an AO2 at the time from 1978-1982.

  • I rode Connie out of Philly I believe in 1992. We went to St. Thomas and had a blast at the beach from the MWR fund. I was SeaOpDet from Oceana and was helping to set up the AIMD 69B & C shops. That was my first Philly Cheese Steak experience at the bowling alley. What a sandwich !

  • Connie was a Great Ship and I loved serving on her. My brother also was on the ship with me in 1976-1978

    I worked in V-3 Division and then became a Ship's Serviceman working in the Smoke shop on the 2nd Deck from the hanger bay on the Starboard side

  • Served on the Connie twice. 1966-1967 and again in 1968-1969 where I was

    dischaged. CR Division Radioman 2nd class. Did a stint in Admirals command

    in Kodiak Alaska as CYN 3 till attaining RM2 designation.

my service on the "Connie"

I recall working the flight deck of the old Gal, and seeing the waves of jets returning from their missions both during the day and night time ops. The most nostalgic memory is of the A-1 skyraiders (spads) that were onboard for the 1966 deployment to the Tonkin. They would return with bullet holes in the wings and the sounds of the powerful 12 cylinder prop along with the backfire through the exhaust and the accompanying spitfire during the night ops.They were later transferred to the RVAF!I…
