  • I was a plane captain in VF-11 deployed for several short cruises plus the September 1962-April 1963 Med cruise.

  • There was a U.S. Naval Sea Cadet division named after the FDR in Pontiac, Michigan, of which I was a member and LPO of as a teenager (1963-69).. I was never aboard the FDR but later served aboard MIDWAY and INDEPENDENCE as an OSC.

  • Was assigned to V-1 Div. 1964. Made the 64 MED Cruise and then was discharged. Re-enlisted and then retired in 1981 as ABH1.

  • Does anyone know what happened to LCDR Peterson  from VA-174?.

  • My assignment aboard the Rosie was the last MED Cruise 09/77 and I was also on the flight deck V-2 Launch and Recovery. I remember some of the good times and close calls we had. I rode the Kennedy up to Va. and really missed the energy that was part of the Last Great Ride of this venerable vessel. The Straits of Messina were the big deal of the day...

  • I was in VF-84 and deployed on CVA-42 in 1972-74

  • I came inboard the Rosie on oct. 2 '76 and made the last med cruise with her. was with her till decom. then transfered to USS JFK.
  • I was with VF-41 from March 72 - May 75 and made three Med. cruises on Rosie, CVA-42 at that time.
  • Ah, my second carrier as a black-shoe, the first being the Coral Sea. I served in M Division from May '72 to May '75. We made two Med Cruises while I was there. I actually joined the FDR in Greece.
