The supercarrier, USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), formerly CVA-63, is the second naval ship named after Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the site of the Wright brothers' first powered airplane flight.

  • I was a members of the Kitty Hawk from Aug 1976 to May 1980
  • I spent a good amount of time on the hawk during the first desert storm the Hawk aka 911 Carrier
  • made two cruises on the Kitty Hawk the last on was a world cruise, from San Diego Ca. to Norfolk Va. I was with the Air Wing 9 - VF-211 Checkmates flying F-14 Tomcats.
